“To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that even one life has breathed easier because you have lived ― that is to have succeeded” ―Ralph Waldo Emerson

“How can we infuse our classrooms with regard for imagination and a desire for a multiplicity of visions, the alternative possibilities the arts can offer. How can we provide occasions for moving intelligently on what is called the information highway and move beyond the facts that mark the way, discovering the empty places, the places that have become sites of social suffering, the spaces we might transform.” —Maxine Green
